My Final Thoughts

To sum things up, this semester has been a blast. To be honest, coming into this class I really wasn't a big literature person. Coming from a high school where we really didn't focus on much work of different authors, this class really put me into a whole new perspective in the way that I read literature. After taking this class, I feel confident in dissecting a piece of literature and a result of this, I feel my own writing has only gotten stronger.

What I liked most about this class was the group work we were given throughout the semester. It gave this class that hands on feeling that I feel in one of my construction classes where you wouldn't normally feel it in an English class. Everyone was so accepting of one another throughout my group work experiences and I hope to see many of their faces throughout my next three years at this school.

The lesson I will cherish most after taking this class is the way I read poetry. Before this class, I never really understood poetry and why people enjoyed it so much. Probably because I never knew it was so much more then just words on paper. Learning how to really dissect every stanza in a poem and really get a feel for how the author was feeling when they wrote the poem is a lesson that I will forever hold on to from this class.

Finally, I would just like to thank Professor Candia for such an awesome semester and I hope to see everyone in this room in the Future.
