Hemingway's Backround

     Ernest Miller Hemingway was born on July 21st, 1899 in Cicero Illinois. He is an American Novelist who is known for his sense of masculinity in his writing. In 1954, he was awarded the Noble Prize for Literature. Hemingway is also known for his widely publicized adventurous lifestyle. He began his writing career in high school where he wrote a lot about his boyhood and summers spent at Walloon Lake in Michigan. After graduating, Hemingway was denied entrance into the military several times due to a defective eye but eventually ended up being drafted into World War 1 as an ambulance driver for American Red Cross. It wasn't until the year of 1925 that his first real book titled "In Our Time" was published in New York City.
